PRODUCT DESIGN

Conceptualisation of a product with interdependent elements in line with modern chess using product design.

  • The box, as we conceive it, is in reality only half of a whole. Its existence is completed when the two parts that are inserted into it come together and seal each other by mutual magnetism, thus locking the whole together.

In a single block, it becomes the meeting point for the resting pieces and the strategic meeting place for the elements of the game.

  • Perfectly square, so that it can be placed on the squares of the chessboard without ambiguity, the base plays a crucial role in determining the identity of Metas. It is the reference point that defines every move.

Gaining experience on the board with each move, it can be removed when the time comes, under certain conditions, to allow the piece to gain in power.

  • The body is the centrepiece of the Metas. Its design allows camps to clearly identify its capabilities thanks to the spikes arranged in a crown at the top.

GAME DESIGN

Introduction of a new phase called Formation before the opening using game design.

  • Taking place before the opening, the formation phase introduces a new dimension to chess. It generates a surprise event allowing players to decide whether or not they wish to integrate a Meta. This phase adds a dose of uncertainty and, above all, a capacity for personalisation that the player adapts with his style even before White's first move.

  • Beyond the simple placement of pieces, this phase marks a key moment when each decision reflects the player's strategy and style. Where traditional chess begins with identical equipment, the formation phase opens the door to a subtle duel of adaptation and anticipation, transforming the chessboard into a unique terrain for strategic expression.
